On Wednesday, May 18th, Semester 2 Personal & Future Exploration students wrapped up Unit 2 on Professional Communication. Throughout this unit, students have been considering the following essential questions:

  • What does professional communication LOOK like?

  • What does professional communication SOUND like?

  • How can I communicate professionally as a 9th grader?

In this unit, the emphasis has been on students learning how to present themselves in a professional manner and how to clearly and effectively communicate their skills, talents, experiences, and strengths. The unit ended with students completing mock interviews with local business owners and community members from the Mad River and Waterbury communities. The students excelled in their mock interviews, and we want to thank the following businesses and community members for their time: Bethany Harrington and Samantha Lacasse from Ben & Jerry's, Susan Buchman and Stephen White from Tucker Hill Inn, Sarah Lund from Sugarbush, Todd Paton from Cold Hollow Cider, Blake Hackerson from New School Builders, Sarina Gulisano from The Sweet Spot, Ashley Woods from Paradise Deli, Trey Rayburn, Ben Olds, Ed Read, Crawford Appleby, Tom Stevens, and Meghan Pico, We are very appreciative of these folks for volunteering their time to come and support our students!
