Welcome New Students!

Your mission today is to accomplish the following goals:

1. Successfully log-on to the network computers
2. Save a file to your network folder
3. Sign-in to your Harwood email and send an email to orientation@harwood.org

Directions:

** How to Log-On to the Network Computers

1. Log-on with your username, which is your last name + first initial (if your last name is hyphenated just use the first name)
2. Your initial password is 'harwood123'
3. You will be asked to change your password upon first log-on - Remember to write this down somewhere.
   

** How to Save a File to your Network Folder on a PC

1. Go to the internet by clicking on the Firefox Web Browser Icon
2. Search for 'Funny Animal' using Google
3. Click 'Images' to narrow your Google search to images only
4. Click on a picture you think is funny
5. Right-Click on the picture and choose 'Save Image As'
6. Double-Click on  'My Computer'
7. Double-Click on your network folder - this will be your account name followed by 'Huhs-server1\work\2016' (F;)  [for example: henchenm on 'Huhs-server1\work\2016' (F;)]
8. Change the File Name if you would like and then click 'Save'
9. Voila!  You have successfully saved a file to your network account.  You can access your network folder by clicking on the network icon on the left of any PC screen.

** How to Save a File to your Network Folder On a Mac

1. Go to the internet by clicking on the Firefox Web Browser Icon
2. Search for 'Funny Animal' using Google
3. Click 'Images' to narrow your Google search to images only
4. Click on a picture you think is funny
5. Right-Click on the picture and choose 'Save Image As' (To Right-Click on a Mac, hold down 'command' and click or place two fingers on the trackpad and click)
6. Click on the drop-down arrows next to 'Where' and choose your network folder by clicking on 'Work', then your grad year, and they your folder.
7. Change the File Name if you would like and then click 'Save'
8. Voila!  You have successfully saved a file to your network account.  You can access you network folder by clicking on the network icon on the bottom right  of any Macbook screen.

** How to Access your Harwood Email

1. Go to the Harwood website at http://www.harwood.org
2. Click on the email icon located on the left-hand side of the webpage.
3. Log in with your Harwood Account:

• Former Harwood Union Middle School students should use the log-in and passwords you used last year.  If they do not work, please go see Dan Birdsall in the Tech Office.
• Former Crossett Brook Middle School Students
  • Log-in to your Harwood email by typing in your username which is:  your full last name + your first initial + you grad year (ex. Matt Henchen would be henchenm2016)
  • Next, type in your password, which is 'harwood123'
  • You will then be asked to change your password to something you will remember.  Remember to write it down somewhere!!!

Your message to orientation@harwood.org needs to include either a comment, a question, or a concern you may have about technology in our school.  An example might be: I have a laptop of my own.  Can I use it at school and print with it?
