Memorandum of Understanding for Next Step Students:

1. The student meets the minimum age of 14 for most employment regulations.
2. The student will maintain a satisfactory attendance record in school.
3. The student will pass all classes.
4. The student must have parental support for participation.
5. The student is willing to participate in comprehensive job training and evaluation focusing on workplace skills and attitudes.
6. The student is responsible for appropriate transportation traveling to and from the part-time position.
7. The student agrees to consult the Next Step staff before job termination or before seeking other employment.
8. The student agrees to provide the school with the appropriate documentation necessary
9. The student is enrolled in the appropriate number of credits for the year.
10. The student has room in his/her schedule for all courses required for graduation.
11. Should the student’s work status change for any reason, it must be understood that he/she will do one of three things:
    1. Work in a service area at the high school on a volunteer basis.
    2. Enroll in courses to fill out a complete schedule.
    3. Work with Next Step staff a minimum of once a week to find a new job.
12. Students in Work Experience will have:
13. Career objective(s).
14. Employment that is in agreement with the current career objective, or a position that can be used as a stepping stone to the career objective.
