Student Resources
Memorandum of Understanding for Next Step Students:
- The student meets the minimum age of 14 for most employment regulations.
- The student will maintain a satisfactory attendance record in school.
- The student will pass all classes.
- The student must have parental support for participation.
- The student is willing to participate in comprehensive job training and
evaluation focusing on workplace skills and attitudes.
- The student is responsible for appropriate transportation traveling to and from the part-time position.
- The student agrees to consult the Next Step staff before job termination or before seeking other employment.
- The student agrees to provide the school with the appropriate documentation necessary
- The student is enrolled in the appropriate number of credits for the year.
- The student has room in his/her schedule for all courses required for graduation.
- Should the student’s work status change for any reason, it must be understood that he/she will do one of three things:
- Work in a service area at the high school on a volunteer basis.
- Enroll in courses to fill out a complete schedule.
- Work with Next Step staff a minimum of once a week to find a new job.
- Students in Work Experience will have:
- Career objective(s).
- Employment that is in agreement with the current career objective, or a position that can be used as a stepping stone to the career objective.
