Science Department

"Teachers in the science department are working through a process to align instruction with the Vermont state GEs (Grade Expectations). The department has continued to increase the use of technology with the purchase and use of portable Xplorer GLX dataloggers and sensors that allow data collection, graphing, and analysis in the classroom and in the field. A second LCD projector in the department will allow teachers the flexibility of displaying information to the entire class at the same time that individual students examine their own expiremental data and participate in class discussion. Students are involved in service learning, participating in the Atlantic Salmon Adopt-a- Salmon/Salmon in Schools program, the Monarch butterfly tagging as part of U. of Kansas Monarch Watch Program, monitoring the Lozelle brook on campus, and composting."
