LAM is a peer mentoring program initiated in response to the results of the Youth Risk Behavior Survey. In an effort to create more opportunities for risk behavior prevention in younger students, junior and senior students in the SLAM program will facilitate discussions and provide support for middle school students within their health and guidance classes.
The Ruth Brothers and Patricia Morse are collaborating on a project to make it possible for Harwood girls who don't have the means; due to Irene or otherwise, to get a prom dress. We've been collecting gently used prom dresses which can be picked up at no cost (unless they need alterations). They are at Something Sew Right: Clothing Alterations and Repairs, in Waitsfield Village, next to The Valley Players. If hemming or alterations are needed, Patty will do it at a reduced rate, but please come a.s.a.p. so that there will be the best selection and time for her to do any alterations. There are some really nice dresses - some never worn so come and take a look. For more info. call Patty at Something Sew Right at 496-6999 or Ruth at Appearances at 496-9966.
